Founded in 2014 by Samantha Schoech, Independent Bookstore Day, is a one-day event that takes place at independent Bookstores across the nation the last Saturday of April. According to the Indie Bound website, while the party is a celebration of Independent Bookstores it’s unique in the fact that no event is the same offering one the chance to meet their favorite authors, live music, scavenger hunts, and programs dedicated to children.
There are roughly seventeen independent bookstores in South Carolina; however, only seven participate in the event. Here is a list provided to my fellow South Carolinians.
