This book is nothing short of phenomenal, gutting me immediately. When I initially began reading this book I knew that it would tell the story of Isaiah was Samuel two enslaved men living on a plantation; however, the book is so much more than that as it showcases the beauty these two men bring to the world all the while living in one of the cruelest eras in American History. I highly, highly recommend it.
