Over the years, Destinee, one of my best friends, has consistently raved about this book. We even discussed traveling to Savannah to film an Operation Adventure vlog visiting the locations where the events of this book took place, including where the movie was filmed.

But then leukemia happened.

Needless to say this book has been on my list for a good minute and in April, to celebrate Destinee’s birthday, I decided to give this a read. I was not prepared. The characters in this book are all so very colorful. The southern gothic mystery was also beyond intriguing. Growing up in the south I clearly knew about what happened at Mercer House. I had also seen the movie. But the book is a gem all on its own. I highly, highly recommend this read to all.

Also I definitely see an Operation Adventure vlog in the near future.
