“Maybe our parents’ lives are imprinted within us, maybe the only fate there is is the temptation of reliving their mistakes. Maybe, try as we might, we will never be able to outrun the blood that runs through our veins. Or. Or maybe we are free the moment we are born. Maybe everything we’ve even done is by our own hands.” – Taylor Jenkins Reid

When Taylor Jenkins Reid publishes a novel or short story all I can do is say, “HERE’S MY MONEY, TAKE ALL OF IT!” I am always so blown away by her ability to pull me into a story and make me truly feel for her characters. I’ve been waiting, impatiently I might add for Malibu Rising and I have to say it didn’t disappoint! I loved every minute of it. If you’re an avid reader of Reid’s you’ll not only love the story and the characters that inhabit the pages you’ll also love the nods to other stories. Such as Evelyn Hugo and Daisy Jones. It was absolutely wonderful.

Also this is my 50th read for the year! Huge milestone and the halfway point in my Goodreads Challenge.
