After reading, Final Girls, by Riley Sager in January I hit pause on reading anything else by Sager. I just wasn’t a huge fan. Then in May I decided to dive into reading, Home Before Dark, and I absolutely devoured it. I found the atmospheric tones creepy and I really enjoyed spending time with Maggie (the main character). I even questioned the plot points and my mind was running all over the place. I just couldn’t figure it out! Highly recommend it! I loved this book so much I’ve incorporated more haunted house books into my TBR pile.

I want to take a moment to discuss the backdrop photo. During my first semester at USC, I had a majority of my afternoon free. Literally one class that was just 50 minutes. Because I was a commuter student driving a good 40 minutes one way I wanted to spend some time getting to know Columbia. Each Friday I would walk around different neighborhoods and scope out different spots in the downtown area. One of the locations I absolutely fell in love with was this house. It’s changed a little over the years but still maintains its beauty. If you’re in the area, check it out.
