5 out of 5
We’re at The Ritz not The Rubin; however, I thought it would set the mood for this beautiful graphic novel. Now for those of you who do not know this is the sequel to Brenna Thummler’s Sheets and it’s just as lovely and thought provoking as it’s predecessor. Dare I say it even surpasses the original.
Like the original I love how this novel tackles love, loss, and grief while expanding its world. I loved the natural integration of old and new characters in the story and felt like the character development was on point. Might I add I got some major LGBTQA+ vibes; granted that might just be me viewing through a queer lens.
I also want to mention that it’s taken me nearly 33 years to read my first graphic novel. Like what?? I honestly wish that I would have invested in them sooner. They really are a work of art, which is what I appreciate.
Obviously I gave this novel a 5 out of 5. Highly recommend and encourage you all to read it! And @brennathummler can we get another? I want more adventures with Marjorie and Wendell!
